Does the treatment involve drilling or cause damage to my teeth?

Can Opalustre be used on existing fillings, crowns, or other restorations?

No, Opalustre is designed exclusively for natural teeth with healthy enamel. The microabrasion process is not effective on artificial dental materials such as composite resin fillings, porcelain crowns, or veneers. If you have staining on existing restorations, we will evaluate them during your consultation and can discuss alternative solutions, such as professional polishing or replacing the restorations to match your refreshed smile.

Can Opalustre be used alongside Icon Resin Infiltration?

Yes, they work exceptionally well together for complex cases. While Opalustre is highly effective at eliminating heavy surface stains and brown discoloration, some teeth also suffer from underlying white spots (decalcification). In these situations, we use Opalustre to clear away the heavy surface stains, and then apply Icon Resin Infiltration to penetrate and camouflage the remaining white spots from the inside out. This combined approach allows us to treat multi-colored lesions comprehensively without ever touching a drill.

Will Opalustre make my entire smile significantly whiter?
