Q1. What is “Ozone Therapy” in dentistry?
A. It is a treatment that utilizes the oxidative power of ozone (O3) to target the bacteria responsible for oral health issues. Our regular maintenance utilizing high-concentration ozone water can provide the following benefits:
- Support in preventing cavities and gum disease: Directly targets harmful bacteria to maintain a hygienic oral environment.

Q2. Why do you use “Ozone Water” instead of “Ozone Gas”?
A. To eliminate the risk of inhalation and provide a completely safe treatment for our patients. Historically, some dental clinics have used high-concentration ozone gas (ie. Ozonytron, Heal-o-zone) machines. However, using gas comes with medical considerations: if the gas leaks and is inhaled, it can irritate the respiratory mucosa and cause coughing or inflammation. Additionally, depending on the shape of the mouth, it can be physically difficult to seal the gas perfectly around the tooth. At PreBeau Oral Care, patient safety is our top priority. By using liquid ozone water instead of gas, we eliminate these inhalation risks entirely.
Q3. Is 5ppm Ozone Water concentrated enough to be effective?
A. Yes. In liquid form, 5ppm is a highly concentrated and clinically effective dose for dental irrigation. Ozone dissolved in water flows deep into periodontal pockets (the spaces between the teeth and gums), acting directly on bacteria. Because it is a liquid, it also provides a physical “flushing” effect (irrigation) that washes away debris and bacterial biofilms. Furthermore, once the ozone reacts with bacteria, it rapidly breaks down into harmless water (H2O) and oxygen (O2). It does not linger in the air, making it extremely safe.
